About Us

Who We Are

The SDG Innovation Lab Armenia stands as a trusted innovation partner  in development cooperation - the world's first UN-Government hybrid innovation lab. Since 2017, we have served as a bridge between UNDP’s innovation vision,  Armenia's development aspirations and the cutting-edge methods in public sector innovation.

Operating at the intersection of policy and institutional innovation, we combine theAI and digital transformation, behavioral insights and foresight to transform governance and the public in Armenia. Our work spans 11 sectoral areas, from digital governance to climate adaptation, always guided by rigorous experimentation and human-centered design principles.

As part of the global UNDP Accelerator Lab network spanning 115 countries, we contribute to and learn from a worldwide community of practice while remaining deeply rooted in Armenia's unique context and challenges.

Our Mission

To accelerate systems change for sustainable development in Armenia through experimentation, human-centered design and technology.

An adaptive governance system  that tackles complex development challenges through experimentation, collaboration and inclusive design - serving as a model for adaptive governance worldwide.

Our Values

Collaboration - Diverse voices, shared impact.
Empathy - We listen first.
Excellence - High standards, real results.
Agility - Adapt and respond fast.

How We Work

SCALE

Systems Integration

We work with partners to integrate innovative solutions into existing systems and institutional processes.

EXPLORE

Challenge Identification

We map complex problems, engage stakeholders, and uncover root causes through systems mapping and behavioral insights.

CO-CREATE

Solution Design

We bring together diverse voices to design solutions through workshops, prototyping sessions, and collaborative design sprints.

We Believe

that innovation thrives at the edges - where different sectors, disciplines, and perspectives intersect to create breakthrough solutions.

that evidence must guide action - that rigorous testing and continuous learning are essential for creating lasting change in complex systems.

that collaboration amplifies impact - that bringing together government, civil society, academia, and communities creates solutions no single actor could achieve alone.

that local context matters - that global best practices must be adapted to Armenia's unique cultural, economic, and political realities.

that failure is a teacher - that honest reflection on what doesn't work is as valuable as celebrating what does.

that the future is not fixed - that strategic foresight and systems thinking can help Armenia navigate uncertainty and shape better outcomes.
