SDG Monitor
Armenia’s first AI-powered, open-access SDG monitoring platform, with a methodology now adopted in Colombia.

The Challenge
Armenia lacked a comprehensive, real-time tool to monitor progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals. Data was scattered across institutions, non-conventional sources were untapped, and SDG 16 (covering rule of law and governance) was particularly hard to measure.
Our Approach
We built SDG Monitor as a hybrid analytics platform, coupling administrative data from public institutions with non-conventional sources like social media and citizen platforms. Beyond Armenia, we partnered with the UNDP Oslo Governance Centre, the UN Statistics Department, and the Global Data Barometer to make the methodology globally relevant.
Key Innovations
• Integration of data from 8+ public institutions with non-conventional
sources including Facebook and the E-Draft public consultation platform
• AI-powered analysis of 45,000 Facebook posts and 469,264 comments from 30 profiles of Armenian public officials
• Methodology replicated by Colombia’s National Statistics Department
• Designation as the National Hub of the Global Data Barometer
Outcomes & Impact
A live, open-access SDG monitoring platform; a methodology now used by another national statistics office; and a permanent role for Armenia in the global governance-data community.
