Who?
ACC #5 program is designed for women and girls who are ready to dive into the tech world and become part of the life-changing community. It is for 2 age groups: 7-14 (ACC #5 for Kids) and 14+ (ACC #5 for Women and Girls) with respective structures and curriculum. No preliminary knowledge is required, as the program is designed for beginners. So women and girls who are living in the regions of Armenia, as well as refugees, are strongly encouraged to apply. The program is fully free of charge.
When and where?
The program kicks off on the second half of April 2019 and will last 20 weeks. The trainings and workshops will take place weekly 2-3 times at Innovative Solutions and Technologies Center Foundation, Vanadzor Technology Center and Gyumri Technology Center, based on the location of the applicants. All interested candidates are invited to submit the applications form by April 15, 2019.
What and Why?
The core mission of Accelerator #5 program is to empower women and girls living in Armenia by delivering tech and business trainings, as well as, helping them to come up with startup projects. The program is tailored to the needs of girls and women, who have little or no field knowledge.
The accelerator program will be addressing the SDG 5, which calls for gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls, as there’s tremendous opportunity to make an impact worldwide via their gained knowledge and it should be under important consideration.
There are going to be 2 main directions, which will be delivered in Armenian:
#5 for Women and Girls (14+)
During 20 weeks women and girls will learn tech and business skills through weekly workshops/trainings and mentorship sessions with field experts, as well as targeted events and meetups. Apply here.
#5 for kids
Which is designed to help young girls, aged 7-14, to take the first leap into programming. In the framework of ACC #5, young girls will have a chance to acquire coding skills within 20 weeks. Apply here.
After the completion of the program:
- participants will graduate with skills for the creation of their own startup or becoming part of an existing one. The best startup projects will enter the ImpactAim Accelerator Program, where through a specially designed curriculum and mentorship, they will be able to develop further their business projects.
- the best students will be granted the opportunity of becoming a Trainer. A tailored program will be provided for selected participants to become Trainers in the regions where they live and spread the digital skills they acquired within the Accelerator #5.
